Gen opened the meeting by welcoming everybody, and welcoming Jill back to work as social and wellbeing organiser with Muriel. Jill will spend time getting to know the new residents.
There is a trip booked to go to Queenswood on the afternoons of May 1st and May 22nd, Jill and Muriel will be around to see who would like to go.
Gen asked if anyone had any ideas for any other trips that the home could go on, and there is a possible trip being organised to Gloucester on a boat trip, which would take place in June. Also, a trip to the farm to see the animals, Lydia mentioned it would be nice to visit Shobdon lakes and airfield, Chris mentioned Shobdon has a market on a Saturday which would be nice to visit. Audrey added that a trip to Weobley tea rooms would be nice and Gen asked the residents if they would be interested in going to Wye Vale Garden Centre. Lydia added that was a good idea and said about a trip to Berrington hall to see the gardens. Flo suggested a trip to Burton on the water would be nice, however Muriel mentioned it was a long way from Leominster. Gen also suggested bowling at Bromsgrove, Muriel said that was a good idea and was fun, Lydia also said it would be good.
John and Johnny
John came yesterday to do a quiz session 17th April and we are hoping to get Johnny back in May and June, just waiting on trying to get funding from the courtyard.
Gallery of happiness picture
Some of the residents have taken part in a project with Jeanette, to create a beautiful picture above the far lounge, called the ‘Gallery of happiness’. The residents involved were Lydia, Norah, Paddy, Freda and Marjorie, a big thank you to them all on their hard work.
Lou Lou the Dogs Birthday
Muriel Perks left us a message to say it is Lou Lou’s birthday soon and would like some ideas of how we could help celebrate, all residents suggested we buy Lou Lou some treats, Mabel said perhaps a bag full of surprises for her.
Gen mention the home are sending a thank you note to Freda’s family for the lovely gift of plant tubs by the front door and the DVD’s they left us here, Jill and Muriel sent a card around for staff and residents to sign to say thank you.
Onia is starting to do planting on the weekends and will go with Marius to buy some plants, Onia will also oversee watering the plants on a Saturday.

Gen told the residents that they could always go and see her with any problems or worries they have or they could speak to a member of staff as well.
Gen also asked if everyone was happy with the food and any suggestions on other foods they would like. Julian asked if they could have more salads, and Lydia mention about having a trifle for pudding occasionally. Muriel added would the kitchen be able to make potato salad more. Flo also asked if they could have more soups like tomato. All residents that participate said how they enjoy the baking on a Monday afternoon.
Della thanked everyone for being kind to her and making her feel welcome.
Gen Mentioned the next meeting would be end of May so we can discuss the upcoming trips in June and September. Muriel mention about going over to the grange and having tea’s and cake, Julian said that would be good and he could go over on his scooter. Julian also asked if any musicians were coming or singers, Gen and Jill both said they was working hard to organise some with Muriel as well.
