The Truth About Everything

The idea for the Zine Project came about when poet Jon Seagrave (aka Jonny Fluffypunk) approached the Courtyard in Hereford with an idea inspired by the work of David Greenberger and his zine The Duplex Planet which involved visiting care homes in Boston USA and chatting to residents about all manner of weird and wonderful subjects, transcribing them and then creating cartoons and illustrations to go with the text into a zine format. This became an underground hit and ran from the late 70’s to the mid 90’s.

Jon approached local collage artist and musician John Rose and funded and supported by The Courtyard in Hereford, the project began in January 2018 with weekly sessions talking to residents at The Forbury Residential Care Home in Leominster and ran for 3 months. These recorded sessions tackling subjects as varied as space travel, magic, superheroes and record reviews have now been transformed into zines created by Jonny and John with additional graphics help from local community artist Jeanette McCulloch.
