Leominster has been stitched up! The 90 restored tapestries are now hanging on 3 new red wool panels in the Priory Church and look magnificent. They were restored by a small but talented team of stitchers and include a new Lamb of God panel. Each panel measures 5 feet x 10 feet. The church is usually open from 10 – 4 every day unless a special service is booked.
“In Stitches”- a local team led by Wendy Rulton stitched 30 x 1 metre square panels showing the history of Leominster since 660ad when the Monastery was built on the Leominster Priory site. These took 5 years including research and artists’ drawings.
These now hang permanently in Grange Court which is open from 10 – 4 Mon to Sat.
In Stitches have also just completed a very amusing & informative panel which is now hanging in the Library foyer. Do go and see all!
