My Apple Dumpling Girl

We would like to thank About Face Theatre Company very much for staging their play for us.  Joan said she will come again next time!  Hilda A-S, Kath C and Rita P worked as a team to make apple pies and apple cake.  Hilda’s and Rita’s pastry was really light and crumbly.  We took the pies and the cake to share the next day, to a performance of “My Apple Dumpling Girl”.  This was performed for us at The Forbury Chapel, next door to The Forbury.

The play was enjoyed by several residents.  It was a love story set in a pork pie factory. The couple who eventually found love were able to escape, saving their pet pig! They moved in together next to an apple orchard, with the prospect of baking apple rather than pork pies.

Really lovely that the people who live at The Forbury became so involved in the ‘Apple Dumpling’ theme, and that they so enjoyed the play. Thanks to all who baked scrummy goodies, to About Face Theatre Company (especially Rachel) for putting on the play for us, and to Emma for her hard work and imagination!
