……Halloween Party!!!
Colleen and Lucy created ‘The Pizza Moon’. David C, Kath C, Tony and Peggy made the spooky bats…
Our Halloween Party this week was very popular. Singer Rachel Hyde was spellbinding with her beautiful voice. We danced and ate Maria’s spooky cakes and at the end we were moved as Anne H and Graham sang along in Welsh with Rachel. Anne sang with good volume, with lovely high notes over the phone to her daughter Hilary!
Party games were “Catch the eyeballs in the web” (a hoop-la game) and “Guess the smells”! Rita H was really pleased to ring a large velvet spider in the centre of its web of eyeballs. She won the spider!

Forbury Christmas Meal
This year we are again looking forward to going out to The Duke’s Head (Wetherspoons) in Corn Square, Leominster, for our Christmas meals. Wetherspoons have made these occasions very enjoyable for us in recent years.
We have tables booked as follows:
If you would like to join your relative or friend from The Forbury for a meal on one of these dates, please let Emma or Kate know. Please bring your full meal payments into The Forbury by Friday 14th November. Meals will need to be chosen in advance from the Wetherspoons Christmas Menu. This can be found at the following link: http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/home/christmas
Please book your choice of meal with Emma or Kate at The Forbury rather than with Wetherspoons. (The Christmas menu choices are on page 2 of the form on the Wetherspoons website.)

Making Bakewell Tarts!
Doreen, Raymond, Kath C, Colleen, Dorothy and Rita H worked hard, sharing the tasks to make some Bakewell Tarts. Rita H and Colleen showed their experience of pastry making, both producing lovely, easy to work with pastry. They were careful about the thickness of the pastry bases they cut out. Doreen commented that Raymond had never done any cooking! Raymond, however, worked enthusiastically to produce a smooth blend for the filling, he greased the tray and spooned jam carefully onto the pastry bases. Dorothy and Kath C were quick to beat the eggs and Dorothy spooned the filling onto each tart. Doreen assisted and ensured the completion of the tasks for the group. The teamwork paid off with the delicious tarts later served to everyone for tea.
